Description of the Ship:

The Nartarn class were designed to be the most powerful ships in the entire Gohorn Velakor. The Nartarn class Dreadnoughts would be where the commander of the battle would reside and these vessels are normally given to Admirals only.

Their mighty weapons systems, however crippling speed have meant that the ships are more akin to moving weapons platforms than proper starships, but they do pack an enormous punch.

There are few Nartarn class ships for the simple reason that they are very expensive to make. Their main drawbacks are their crippling speed making them unsuitable for fast paced manoeuvres.

The Nartarn fares better when not moving and simply using its weapons to defeat its enemies.

Description of System:

On the last decks of the Nartarn, there are 7 missile bays positioned at different points along the hull. Contained inside these bays are missiles normally carried by hover tanks that can penetrate the atmosphere.

If it is necessary for a planetary bombardment, the bay doors open to reveal a large-scale delivery system. This system will fire the missiles down on to the planet surface.

However, this system cannot be used against other vessels because the deploy system is too slow and any vessel would be able to avoid the missiles released.

Internal Room Layout

Compartments: 8 - Command Center

The Command Center for the Nartarn has remained unchanged throughout its years of service, despite the panels and the controls behind them obviously receiving upgrades. The room is circular with consoles along the circumference of the wall. Facing towards the fore sections of the vessel is a large screen that spans from floor to ceiling. The room?s ceiling is 5 meters off the floor, to allow room for the Captain of the vessel to stand on the elevated level of the "command deck."

The Command Deck (CD) is a circular platform 3 meters in diameter, raised 1 meter off the deck of the ship. There are rails all around this command deck, with only one staircase on and off it. Attached to the rails are sensor monitors and smaller consoles so if necessary, the Captain can do all the basic functions of the vessel.

Each Captain has his own preference towards seating. Some prefer it, others prefer to stand. So when a new Captain boards his vessel, he can either get rid of or bring in a chair for him to sit on. This chair would be fixed in front of the fore most consoles of the railing, facing the screen and can swivel around the rails.

Compartments: 13 - Medical Facility

In a bid to streamline the medical process, the Nartarn's sickbay is like one long tunnel with beds at either side. It is so doctors can move from one patient to another quickly, without having to worry about which way he/she is going.

The Doctor's offices are clustered at one end of the 50-meter long medical bay and the Medical research facilities, critical care and special treatment wards are at the other end, with 1 door on either wall.

Equipment trolleys are staggered at different points, so the medical instrument a doctor may need is not very far away.

Two doors lead in to the Medical Bay, one at each end and both doors are located near a lift.

Compartments: 19 - Engine Room

The Engine Room is located above the main Vortex drive area, but there are stairs and lifts down to the Vortex Maintenance rooms. The Engine Room is called so because they regulate the Vortex drive from it and the rest of the systems on the ship. The Main Engine Room is a large, square room with a big circular table in the middle.

From either side of the room, four corridors lead off. One to the lifts which will take you to the rest of the ship and one for the stairs and lifts from which you can access the Vortex Drive. A third to access a medium sized room, which deals with power distribution, and the fourth will take you to the rest of the deck.

As is always necessary in any Engine Section, space is essential because there are lots of Engineers. The corridors on this deck are twice the size to accommodate lots of people during a crisis. Consoles line all of the walls and the large table is covered with them too.

Secondary Usage: If necessary, the lowest of the cargo bays can be converted in to a land vehicle storage area. The higher ones can double up as triage facilities should it be necessary.
