At risk of a repeat of the July 2010 incident
Dear friends of New Worlds Project, For the second month in a row we've been facing bandwidth being eaten up as a much faster pace than we are used to. There is a real risk that New Worlds Project will not be able to keep the site online by the end of the month because of our allocation being used up.
We believe that the problem is coming from an increased number of attacks by spammers and spamming accounts. We've increased the number of banned users as they are using some very easy-to-spot e-mail addresses, *and* we've also instaured additional security measures which we hope will help keep the attackers at bay.,
We apologise for any inconvenience should the site go down, but hope that our users understand that these are due to circumstances beyond our control. We are going to be exploring with our website hosting provider alternatives that can be used to ensure this nuisance does not repeat next month.
