Basic Description

Description of the Ship:
When created, the Ticonderoga Class heavy battleships were supposed to be a new breed of ships of the line for the Terran Democratic Republic's UNPPF. Having concentrated on the development of powerful fightercraft carriers, the UNPPF needed warships which were able to take on the other major powers' ships of the line. The Ticonderoga Class heavy battleship was the answer, powerful and yet still agile, the warships have become a symbol of UNPPF power for many years. Considered an aging design, the UNPPF still continues to use this vessel to play a key role on the front lines as a command and control vessel that packs quite a punch in its own right.

Special Systems

Onboard System
Name: AEGIS Anti-Missile and Torpedo Shield
Model: AEGIS-AMS-4
Manufacturer: T.D.R. Skunkworks, California, United States, Earth
Description of System:

The AEGIS Anti-Missile Shield was developed as part of a whole array of AEGIS equipment that was designed to increase the defence readiness of Terran starships. The efficiency of these weapons has made them sought-after equipment across the entire galaxy.

The AEGIS Anti-Missile Shield protects the ship from missile attack by carpeting a region where the missile is expected to hit with small laser discharges. They work alongside interceptors to make the Avenger one of the best-defended ships against missiles.

The AEGIS, however, has been known to lock up and doesn't always hit its fast moving target. When the Avenger was completed, Ticonderoga Class starships' Aegis AMS 4 systems received significant upgrades.

Special Systems

Onboard System
Name: Anti-Sensor Detection System
Model: United Air and Space Institute, Earth
Manufacturer: ASDS-934
Description of System:

Note: The Anti-Sensor Detection System only works against starships which are far away and the system causes a considerable energy drain on the ship using it.
